Women of Multi-sport Adventure Racing, welcome to a new era.

The Baja Travesia is presents an opportunity that turns a new page for adventure sports.

For the first time, this multi-day expedition race has a women’s category with a proper prize waiting at the finish line.

Teams of three women, aided on the course only by map and compass, their support crew and each other will take on the 400km course traversing the Baja Peninsula. In it’s third year, the Baja Travesia will host this women’s division for the first time.

In recent years, women have displayed to the world there is no gender barrier in this most grueling sport in the world. It’s become common knowledge and well documented that women have the capacity to not only excel during ultra distance events, but perhaps even more so than men. In March, the women will be treated a little special pre and post race with an attractive swag package and a few special surprises. During the event, it’s business as usual, the playing field is level and there is no special treatment for the women.

The media will of course have special reporting and heaps of live coverage. You can expect the entire sporting world to know all that is going on with the women of Baja Travesia.

Teams must register as soon as possible to secure a spot in this Adventure Racing World Championship qualifier (www.arworldseries.com). All teams placing in the top three overall are invited to the World Championships in Brazil in 2008.
